Fictiv's Lead Time Optimization functionality allows you to quickly update your requirements to meet your target delivery date. Lead Time Optimizer is one of the features that are only available with a Fictiv Teams account. Read on to learn how to use it and get the most out of Fictiv Teams.
How to enter the Lead Time Optimizer
Once you have uploaded and configured your part(s), you will see the option to optimize the lead time in a blue banner above the configuration window. Once you click on “Optimize lead time” you will be directed to the Lead Time Optimizer page [Fig. 1].

How to optimize for lead time
Once you’ve arrived at the Lead Time Optimizer page, start by entering your target date and you'll be shown how it compares to the available lead times, and what options you have for reducing the lead time for individual parts [Fig. 2].

Use “Remove”, “Update drawing”, “Update threads” or “Update quantity” options to trim down requirements for individual parts to meet your target delivery date. The removal of secondary processes (e.g. Black Oxide) and quality documentation (e.g. Material Certification) can be undone by using the “Undo” button, as long as the Lead Time Optimizer page is open [Fig. 3 & 4].

Requirements detected from the drawing (e.g. tight tolerances and threads) must be removed by annotating the drawing and therefore require a new RFQ after the drawing is annotated, which typically takes up to 2 business hours [Fig. 5].

If you're satisfied with the updated configuration, you may proceed to checkout from the Lead Time Optimization page. To return to the main quote page, click "Save and exit Lead Time Optimizer" on the top left-hand side [Fig. 6].
